| Introduction | I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended church at a small but lively A/G church, pastored by Otho Allen. He was a great man of God. I was raised by great parents (Clyde and Betty) and their friends whose lives impacted me forever. I left home in '74 to attend Seminary for 2 years, and then back to Tulsa, to attend Rhema in '77. Met and married Beth Trevithick @ Rhema. In 1980, we moved to Fort Worth to work for KCM, Inc. I was in the Prayer Dept. (praying for special needs sent in by mail and phone) and travelled around the country speaking on prayer. Later, I was invited to join the crusade team travelling with Kenneth. I was made Director of Operations -Philippine Islands and we moved to Manila, teaching across the islands. Moved back to the US, created Phil Strickland Ministries, travelling and speaking in many different countries. I moved to West Columbia, TX in 1988 and worked with BB Hankins for 7 yrs. We have gone to church in Brazoria with Dale Frankum for the last 6 years. I lead a Bible Study Group as we study the subjects of Knowing Christ, Prayer, Islam and Christ, Praying for Missions and more. |
| Interests | Books about avariety of subjects, ie, history and especially historcal novels. Music, Coffees, Open air coffee shops on the backstreets of Manila, Baguio, Kampala, London and Trondhiem. More than these, tho, I love my friends. I love public speaking. I love my family; My wife and 2 daughters; my Mom and Dad and 2 sisters. I love my extnded family, my aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws. Hunting, hiking, giving, biking and motorcycles. I love to teach and preach. I love public speaking. I love to pray - to fellowship with the Father, talk to Jesus, and to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. I go into jails and prisons to teach and develop prisoners as productive citizens, who upon release will be able to stay free and support their families. |
| Favorite movies | Action/Adventure for me, and old romantics and comedy for Beth. I liked Shawshank Redemption, Patriot Games, Second Hand Lions and almost all of Mel Gibson's movies, especially the Patriot, The Passion, and Braveheart. Beth loves anything with Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, Bob Hope and Danny Kaye, etc. |
| Favorite music | Rock, Worship, some Country and Classical... and smooth Jazz. While we lived in Manila, Beth and I went to concerts by Perry Como and Spyro Gyra, both at the Folk Arts Theater. I have a friend named Mike Wood who has travelled with me and led worship for me in chuches around the world. |
| Favorite books | The Bible, the gospels in particular. A little book I am constantly inspired and challenged by is "The Life of Faith" by Mrs. C. Nuzum. I love poetry and music. Books by Peter Capstick on big game hunting in Africa and South America. Jeff Shaara's American histories like "Rise to Rebellion," and anything by Jack Hayford. |
