| Introduction | I have a beautiful wife and two little girls who are the light of my world. I was raised in a church, my father being a pastor. I became a false convert at a very young age. I grew up and attended junior college before attending Pensocola Christian College for a single semester where I was unsuccessfully expelled; I left of my own volition at the end of my first semester very disenamored with religion and its apparent anti-intellectualism. About four years ago my father dragged me down to the Shepherds conference. I can remember sitting in a seminar by Phil Johnson and hearing him make a passing reference to the sovereignty of God; he said something to the effect - 'what distinguishes Christianity from every other religion in the world is that it is not about what we do to have a right standing with God, but it is about what He purposed to do for us while we were his enemies.' Ding Ding Ding. Since then I have repented before God and have placed my trust in the Atonement of my Lord Jesus Christ as the only means by which I may be reconciled to God. I have only missed one Shepherds conference since then to attend the birth of my first daughter. |
