| Introduction | Over a decade ago, we moved to Santa Monica. I had never been here before, but my partner knew I was unhappy where we were and thought Santa Monica would speak to me. He. Was. Right. At approximately 2pm that October 2003 Saturday, our family touched down at LAX. By 6pm, the three of us were on the beach watching the sunset. I inhaled deeply and knew that I was home. Since then I have fallen in love with this small, progressive, dynamic, diverse city. My son is now a teenager and my partner is now someone else's partner. But I continue to discover and enjoy the layers of this place. And I feel most visitors or new residents barely scratch the surface of all it provides. So Beached Santa Monica is about exploring Santa Monica and it's nearby towns and cities. Learning all it has to offer. Figuring out what sets it apart. But mostly, just enjoying being here.
