| Introduction | Platypus-Ornithorhynchus anatinus I am remarkable and rare and make my home in the river and creek systems of the Otway Ranges. I am a monotreme, which means I lay eggs but suckle my young.I eat inscts,molluscs,and worms. I like to swim from evening to early morning when the bush is calm. I feel protective of my home which I share with many other remarkable species that are indigenous to the semi-tropical rainforest where I live.I am an indicator of the health of my ecosystem.I need you to hear my voice because my home is under threat. |
