| Introduction | I am interested in the full spectrum of diversity in rural areas. From locals and yokels through to tourism and innovative business strategies. Rural areas have to meet many expectations - as a place for food production, as a playground for leisure activities, as a place of ecological balance and a source of income. The abilities of rural people are often overlooked and their needs ignored. Urban folk often think we are a bit slow on the uptake and they also sometimes forget that we produce the food. Expect a bit of everything on this blog - from rare plants and animals (as a sideline to my work at www.save-foundation.net) through to rants about development aid and economics. |
