| Introduction | Atheism Y'all: As the title (hopefully) suggests, I'm an out-of-the-closet atheist in the Deep South, commonly referred to as the "Bible Belt". I'm also a Progressive; as you can imagine, these two things do not endear me to my fellow Southerners. This blog was created as a place where I can discuss religion, politics, philosophy, topics and concerns of the day, and pretty much anything else that pops into my head. I absolutely loved a spirited discussion, and the give-and-take of civil debate.
After a great deal of thought and introspection, I decided to write and participate in this blog anonymously; and even though I'm writing anonymously, I will expose a couple of things about myself, to provide some context: ** I'm a native Southerner, and I've lived throughout the South. However I am well-traveled, and have been to various countries in Europe on numerous occasions. Incidentally, I continue to travel to Europe regularly. ** I've been married for a long, long time - multiple decades. I also have multiple children; some are adults, some are still kids. I look forward to our discussions! |
