| Introduction | I'm in my mid-thirties, and grew up in the far West End of Richmond on 8 acres of semi-ruraldom. Without siblings or neighborhood kids to get me in trouble, I became very introverted, but developed my own interests, instead of letting a groupthink of peers develop them for me. In my teens, it was me and my 8-bit C64. Ah, the good old days of Basic 2.0 and 6510 Assembler. Needless to say, being sent to my tiny room wasn't punishment. I scoured books on QM and relativity, though my math wasn't up to par in pursuing physics as a living. After high school, I got into prog: Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant, ELP, ect. I love any music that is colorful, complex and adventurous. I've always loved SF&F. I spent one summer with Corwin as he rode through shadow, fleeing the storm as Oberon redrew the Pattern. In 2003, I began to try my hand at writing, and found it's harder than it seems. So far, that hasn't deterred me. But maybe it should? |
