| Introduction | I have four grown-up children and have loved being a mother. In 1996 I began training as a midwife but found it difficult to work within the NHS as I was unable to give the continuity and quality of care that I believe women deserve, and since 2004 have worked in Independent Practice. Working in this way I can offer the luxury of unhurried appointments in the comfort of a client's own home, allowing plenty of time to prepare for the birth. Birth with a known midwife has been proven to: - increase the likelihood of a normal birth - shorten labour and decrease the need for pain relief - improve maternal satisfaction and breastfeeding rates I am an experienced, sensitive midwife and can support them through pre-conception, pregnancy, birth and into early parenthood. I have a strong belief in the normal physiological process of birth and predominantly attend women choosing to give birth at home. I am experienced in birth education, waterbirth and VBAC and have supported women giving birth to twins and breech babies. I am happy to travel up to one hour from home in Milton Keynes.
