| Introduction | In 1967-68 I went to Quang Ngai with the AFSC to work on refugee relief projects there. My role was as the team secretary, providing office support for the team's director, as well as keeping records in the rehab center. During this time Marjorie and I became co-workers and friends. After 40 years, she and I re-established contact last year, and when she asked me if I would be interested in joining her for this return to Quang Ngai province to work in the Tinh Khe village school with her as a teacher-aide in their English language classes, I enthusiastically accepted. I'm very much looking forward to returning to this beautiful country, having the chance to stay in one place and, I hope, really engage with some of the local people. It's a beautiful country with warm, kind people and I'm thrilled at this opportunity. I'm also a novice blogger, but I'll try to post from time to time, and hope to figure out how to post some photos occasionally, too. Your kind thoughts, wishes and prayers are gratefully accepted. |
