Introduction	The Barbados Economics Society was formed at a meeting convened on January 13, 1983 with the aims of: a) encouraging greater interaction and interchange of ideas among practicing economists; b) encouraging greater professionalism among economists; c) stimulating interest in economic matters of importance to the regional development of the Barbados, regional and international economy, and; d) providing a forum for discussion of such matters.
