| Introduction | I grew up in the Small town of Blackburn, MO. My grandparents and parents owned the local general store. I had so much fun growing up in such a loving and friendly environment. After college, I worked at Harzfeld's in Kansas City, where I met my husband, Joe. He lived in Washington, DC area so Maryland was our home for two years. Joe was transferred back to KC to my old job in Jan 1979. After our house sold in March, we moved our belongings and ME to Blue Springs. Our daughter Beth was born in May of 1979. Soon after I realized I didn't want to work outside the home, so I became a home childcare provider. In 2 years, Scott was born and then a few short mos after that, Anna was born. With 3 kids, a job outside the home was not in the cards for me. I have done childcare for 31 years now and have loved "ALMOST" all of it! My husband and I watch the children together now as he is retired. I love the time I spend at the Brass Armadillo and have recently been inspired by a vendor in the Brass Armadillo in Phoenix, AZ. She's quite the dynamo. I can only hope to be a portion as successful as she is. Thanks for the inspiration! |
