About me

LocationLymington, Hampshire, United Kingdom
IntroductionHaving done very little running in my school & university days, I started running properly in early 2010, after some encouragement from my sister in law (a sub 3 hr marathoner & the Argentinian National Ladies 100k record holder) . My 1st race was the Sway 5 mile, a cross country race in the New Forest in July 2010 (in a time of 41:46). By October 2011 I'd run my 1st marathon in under 3hrs and in April 2012 I ran the London Marathon in 02:43:33 to qualify for a UKA Championship start place in the 2013 race. I am definitely strongly biased towards endurance events, up to half marathon distance there are plenty of local runners who are better than me, but by the time you get to marathon distance I am the faster runner . The pinnacle of my running to date was breaking the 2hr 30 barrier at London in 2017. I knell down and kissed the tarmac at the finish on The Mall I was so happy! I race across a range of distances from 5k up to 50k and I enjoy racing ultra distances, particularly off road. Through this blog I hope to share some of the knowledge and information I find as I learn more about running.
