| Introduction | I have taught language, writing, literature and media studies from the ninth grade through graduate school. The greatest amount of my publishing has been online. I'm currently listed as Associate Prof. Emeritus at Southern Connecticut State University. I also wrote lyrics for Kirsten Mason (kirstenmasonsings.com) |
| Interests | American culture - resistive vernaculars - and restoration of enlightenment approaches to cultural issues. |
| Favorite movies | Lately I've been interested in the edgy uses of tehnology to question our perceptions as in "Natural Born Killers", "Sin City", "Matrix" etc. |
| Favorite music | Late 80s to mid-90s rap - some jazz - some fusion (like 311) - and some traditional CW. |
| Favorite books | Books that explain things, like everything by Ta'Nehisi Coates, Simon Scharma's "Rough Crossing", Kevin Phillips' "American Theocracy", Morris Berman's two books on the demise of American culture as we have known it, and George Soros' "Age of Fallibility". Since I stopped teaching literature I haven't picked up much fiction (the craft of fiction got lost somewhere). |
