Introduction March 20, 2007, Lisa collapsed while working out with her trainer, Terry Sedgewick. She suffered from what appeared to be a seizure and was unconscious. Terry called 911 and Lisa was taken by ambulance to Saddleback hospital. While she was there they performed a CAT scan. It was determined that she had a Cerebral Aneurysm that ruptured causing a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage. The ER stabilized her for transport to Mission Hospital where they have state of the art equipment and would give her better care for her type of injury. At this point, Lisa was talking to husband John and daughter Jessica and recognizing everyone that was coming and going. She had feeling in her limbs and was aware of her surroundings. Dr. Lempert, a Vascular Intervention Radiologist, performed a procedure called an Endovascular Coil. This coil surrounds the aneurysm site preventing a re-bleed that may cause more damage. The medical team decided to put Lisa into a medical coma so that her brain and body could rest and start to heal. She will be in this state for several days and they will slowly reduce the amount of medication allowing her to regain consciousness.
