| Interests | We choose to live in Costa Mesa because of our quality of life and strong community. We are concerned that the actions of our current City Council majority may destroy those very qualities and our community if we don’t act now. The people of Costa Mesa deserve a safe community; open, transparent government; sound research and analysis; facts; responsive, skilled, experienced city employees; the best services; and responsible city government. Instead, this Council majority is pursuing outsourcing the Fire Dept. and gutting the Police Department; two-person committees trying to avoid open meeting laws; hasty decisions based on politics; spin; outsourcing nearly half of City employees to the low bidder, without analysis; ignoring public comment and appointing cronies; and sweetheart deals WE DEMAND: • A thorough, comprehensive evaluation and public discussion of the City’s finances, including revenues as well as expenditures, and • A publicly-vetted and approved plan for future economic stability that meets the needs and abilities of the people of Costa Mesa. • Accountability in spending ALL public dollars, not handoffs to private entities not answerable to the public Please join us to make sure that the Costa Mesa we choose to live and work in continues to be great. Let’s make sure that integrity and community interest motivate our City Council and that politics and political ambition don’t dictate the direction of our city.
