About me

GenderMale
OccupationGrunt
LocationUnited Kingdom
IntroductionI have some short story and article publication credits, working on three novels (one post-critique awaiting final edit, one being critiqued by a lovely group of writers at FM, and one being rattled out). I have a four year old son, who is a star. He's very creative, and fascinated by letters and the alphabet... oh dear! Poor little guy!
InterestsReading and writing, obv. Music, travel, MMA (watching, not doing! Although I do have an old trophy for third place in something lying around somewhere...) Being curious, I think, is my biggest hobby!
Favorite moviesBabe, Moulin Rouge, Matrix, Gattaca, Meet Joe Black, Robocop (although I tend to laugh all the way through), Wayne's World, A Knight's Tale, Cube. Quite into film, and observe the formulas and constructions in a similar way to when reading/critiquing.
Favorite musicHigh energy dance (think Groove Coverage, Milk Inc, Cascada, Faithless, Flip & Fill, Lasgo, and at the quieter end Mike Oldfield and Tina Cousins), Rock (Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Marylin Manson, Nirvana) pop/rock (Kaiser Chiefs, this kind of thing), pop (Girls Aloud... well pretty much everything in this category), Band (Levellers), Motown and sixties... Actually, it'd be easier to say I love most music, even a bit of new age stuff, but there are three big exceptions: thrash metal, trance, and jazz. (I really hate jazz).
Favorite booksNiccolo Ammaniti's I'm Not Scared, Kate Saunders' Wild Young Bohemians, Paolo Coelho's Veronika Decides to Die, Luke Rineheardt (George Cockroft) The Dice Man, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Lynda La Plante's The Talisman, Dean Koontz's The Watchers, Sidney Sheldon's The Doomsday Conspiracy, Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment... I read Watership Down when I was in my twenties and loved it!

Whoops! Your tongue is now a magnet. Whatever will you use for silverware?

Nothing could stop me from eating! I'd use my fingers, obviously. Even for soup. Well, okay, I'd lift the bowl and pour it down.
