| Introduction | I am in the first of the Baby Boomers. Saw in person: JFK assasination, Viet Nam War, War on Poverty. Lived through runaway Inflation of the 70's accompanied by Oil Embargo, lines at the gas pumps. DID NOT vote for Richard Nixon despite most in SC thinking he was great--I don't ever vote for a BS Artist. Not impressed with Ronald Reagan and thought he got a pass on Iran/Contra. George Bush--don't ask! Obama--yet to be seen. Been a Baptist Minister, Life Underwriter named "Underwriter of the Year" by my RMALU. Own Affordable / Professional Tree Surgeons Company struggling with poverty in Eastern NC. Have seen good times and bad. Chased Hurricane Charlie in SW Florida and Katrina in Mobile, ALA. Just trying to figure out how we got in the above Federal messes from "top down" economics = 4 year Depression. Daddy was the impoverished son of an Athens, GA Tenant farmer raised during the Depression. My mother was the daughter of a struggling SC farmer during the Depression. Now I know what Depression is all about!!! Over the past 20 years I have had several articles published in the Biblical Recorder / Baptists Today / and Rocky Mount Telegram. |
