| Introduction | My name is Emilie and I just recently changed my political party from Democrat to Libertarian. Having voted for (N)Obama in 2008, I was hoping that I had finally found a politician I can trust...WRONG. Alas, I feel he has lied to us, crapped on the Constitution, and quite frankly, he goes against everything America stands for. Needless to say, I will not be voting for him ever again. I feel that we only need government to manage interstate commerce and maintain our military. Thomas Jefferson said it best "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." I hope to learn more about my government than I have in high school classes; especially since our public school system went to crap. They take better care of our prisoners here than our youth. I scored better than 67% of the public in my current events quiz (like 8 questions which is pretty good considering I don't have cable) and I got about 51% on my civics quiz. I know many and/or all of you will not agree with me or my beliefs...that's cool. But that will not stop me from saying what I have to say... |
