Introduction	So what's my background? I have been involved with pony club since I was 10. I was a member of the Spooners & West Dartmoor branch of the British PC. Before I graduated at 21 I earned my B rating and represented the club at Area Dressage and Eventing. This is the equivalent of rallies in the US except you can only compete in dressage if you are riding at about 1st level dressage and for eventing the equivalent of preliminary. Since arriving in the US 10 years ago to do a PhD in nutrition (I studied dairy cows) I have been a DC for 4 years, an instructor and an examiner through the C2 level. I also apprenticed as a C3 examiner. While I was in college I groomed at a livery yard outside London where I got to play with polo ponies. As a result I played polo for both Edinburgh University and the University of California, Davis. I was also a working student for an FEI level dressage rider while working on my PhD. Since I don't get to ride much these days my new riding substitutes are pilates and running.
