Introduction I started out writing about food as a way to keep my ability to string comprehensible sentences together intact through graduate school. But you're in graduate school, I imagine you thinking, why on earth would you do MORE writing? The reason I need to do more writing, fair reader, is because I'm in graduate school for biochemistry. I love science, but it is relentlessly wringing every last bit of artistic creativity and humor out of my soul. I am not A Writer, and I don't play one on TV, but the lack of communication skills - written and spoken - in my field is appalling. Plus, I love food, hence the existence of "What Room...?" "Here's Another Fine Mess..." is around so I can vent and rant because if I don't blow off a little sarcastic steam, it'll build up and one day it'll fly out at a most unfortunate time, most likely at one of my committee members who all remind me of Peter Jackson's portrayal of the Ents in the Lord of the Rings movies. The truth of it is I lead a singularly boring life. But I make very good food and I have an incredibly well-developed sense of sarcasm. Ah, if only my bosom was as well-developed, I could have my own daytime television show...
