IntroductionI'm balancing life with Type 1 diabetes, a demanding job and an overwhelming desire to be a Mum. I started this blog to record my thoughts and feelings about life, the universe and everything after spending many happy hours lurking around the truly inspiring D-OC (Diabetes Online Community). I would love to be brave enough to de-lurk completely, but I've decided to blog under a pseudonym so that I have the freedom to write about anything and everything without compromising the privacy of my fabulous husband, lovely family, and caring medical professionals. I chose the name a.k.a Dia...betty, because although my name's not Elizabeth, my nickname at home has been Betty for as long as I can remember! Betty + Diabetic = Dia...betty! Then I discovered the Simpsons character with the same name. Not *really* a good image, but I'm sticking with the name all the same :)
