| Introduction | I grew up in Dalton Gardens, Idaho when it was considered living in the sticks. Now, there is more pavement and less pastures..but back in the day it was common for everyone to have a garden...that's where my love of gardening all started. I dont think I knew it at the time, but now I look back and remember all the fun times my family had spending time together while we were in the garden. Now, it is very apparent how much that family time shaped who I am today.It took some years to figure that out though because unfortunately, over the years most of the gardening fell to the wayside as our families moved on to raise their families but finally when life lightened up a bit I felt a strong need to start gardening again and have been at it ever since. In this past year our family has lost someone so dear to our family..my mom..that we have created a very special garden in her honor. It's almost as if she is there with us encouraging us to grow!!! Now I get it though...it wasn't so much just the plants she has always encouraged us to grow...It was family. Her and my dad found a way for our family to spend good quality family bonding time together and it worked. |
