Introduction After graduating with a degree in communication from Boston University, I chose the unconventional path of a wanderer as I meandered around the world, first with a backpack on my back, and later as a dive instructor and a sailboat captain, deckhand, mate or cook. I’ve lived in a Mayan village, a tiny town in Central Turkey, a Buddhist Dojo in Japan just to name a few. I’ve bartended in a piano bar in Antigua; done photography for a non-profit shoot in Honduran coffee fields; worked in a hostess club in Roppongi; wrote features for an English newspaper in Guatemala City; washed dishes at a campground near the Lebanon boarder (and heard rockets on a regular basis) I’ve taught teenagers scuba diving and sailing in the BVI’s; taught interpersonal communications on a schooner from Granada to Tortola; cooked for a luxury liveaboard dive boat in the Caymans. I sold tropical artwork in the middle of snowy Minnesota; wrote a 17 part motivational teen program, currently used in 6 countries. Oh, and now I’m an online sales consultant for a new home builder in Virginia Beach.
Interests I’ve done Tai Chi beside waterfalls in South Africa, on mountain tops in Lesotho, and on my dock on Gwynn’s Island (I’ve gotten equally strange looks from both the native Africans and the “born here’s” of Mathews County Virginia) I’ve dived the coral reefs of Cuba, and Zanzibar among others. I’ve sailed around most Caribbean Islands. I’ve road horseback to the great pyramids of Egypt and bartered for bananas in Kathmandu; climbed mountains in the Himalayas, jumped off bridges in New Zealand, and rappelled down rock faces in Australia.
