Introduction	I'd never even thought of becoming a principal until the day my friend Dave double-dared me. Born and raised in Arizona, I ended up educated by a combination of public and private elementary schools, then a huge public high school,and finished off by the University of Arizona and Harvard. I've always been a schoolgirl, and even now I live in a red brick house. Principal is about how a bookish introvert worked uneasily in a chaotic system undergoing a fundamental shift in tone and focus.
