| Introduction | Our story began in college while Jess was attending Texas A&M and Matt was taking Paramedic classes. We were good friends for about a year before dating. After I graduated from A&M in 2007 our lives picked up speed...Matt proposed in July 2007; Matt hired on at Bryan Fire Dept.; married 5/17/08; bought first home June 2009; had our first baby - Mason born 3/31/11. Along the way my Mom fought her battle with breast cancer. My amazing, strong, loving & beautiful mom went home to our Father on 2/6/10. She is greatly missed everyday. We are blessed with a beautiful son we love! When Mason was 4 weeks old, he was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis - a total shock to us. He is the first in both our families to have this disease. We hadn’t the slightest clue we are carriers of the gene. Every day I worry what his CF will bring him, but I’m trying my best to give it all to God. We do what we can each day to prevent Mason from becoming ill – inhaler,CPT,vitamins, salt,enzymes. It has been overwhelming for these new parents, but it is beginning to just become our normal daily routine. I pray everyday for a cure for CF, and thankfully there is much hope that one day we will see it! |
