| Introduction | Born and raised in Sedalia, I've chosen to stay in the area to raise my family. Though my wife and I were beginning to reconsider the decision, the recent vote to pass a school levy has gone a long way to making me more comfortable with my decision. Now I want to make a difference in the community. It's not about how many committees you are on. It is how committed you are to what you are doing. I believe we've lost the art of discussion. From the anonymous rants in the Sedalia Democrat's Sedline column to the news sound bytes often meant only to gain support for a candidates upcoming election, people no longer want to engage in meaningful discussion. I'm out to prove that it can happen, and it can be a positive experience. |
