| Introduction | Getting interested in Amateur Radio since 1978. Started SWL with an old junk receiver RCA AR88. After got his ticket in 1989. His first HF Transceiver Yaesu FTDX-400. This transceiver was very hot running on valves..have to used two blowers on it! After having the transceiver for few years some new comers interested with that transceiver , let go the rig than bought Yaesu FT-101B after used a couple of years than bought a second hand KENWOOD TS-50S. He also used it for his HF Mobile Coms. in 1991 ~ 1993. After a couple of years he let go this rig and bought brand new IC-706 (first model)used this rig to work RS satellite and 2 meter SSB During this time he also used second hand TS-440s, TS-830S this was a good rig at that time...very quite.Even though now new rig comes with DSP but he still keep his old junk running on Valve!!! sounds more warm,clean and solid..compare to the solid state...types... |
