| Introduction | I'm a determined woman, not willing to let chronic illness illness take away the joy of living. I am a wife, mommy and graduate student working on a PhD in Neuroscience and Psychology. I have mitochondrial disease that has caused generalized dystonia with dystonic attacks, dysautonomia, tachycardia, severe gastroparesis & bowel dysmotility (TPN dependency), fibromyalgia, muscle weakness and pain, peripheral neuropathy, fatigue, intermittent ptosis, strabismus and migraines. Life is not easy but I'm doing the best I can to live in the moment and find happiness in the small joys of life. In addition to grinding away at my dissertation, I particularly enjoy playing the roles of wife and Mommy. My son brings me daily joy and I enjoy sharing about his experiences and discoveries. |
