Occupation Exploration geologist
Location Salt Lake City, Utah, United States
Introduction Found out that I had Multiple Myeloma as a result of a routine visit to our Internist in February after he ordered a blood test, which hadn't been done for several bi-annual visits. The test showed I was somewhat anemic, had some protein in the blood and my kidney function was somewhat impaired. Follow up visits to an oncologist and a nephrologist in May confirmed the diagnosis and I saw a transplant team at LDS Hospital June 9; I didn't like their treatment proposal so asked to be referred to the Huntsman Cancer Hospital and I am now undergoing treatment aimed at an autologous stem cell transplant. I now have my second 2 bags of 4 daily chemo treatments. This will be followed after a rest period with the harvest of my stem cells. I have another beloved granddaughter whose picture will be added to one of blogs. And I hope a picture with the 2 rescue Goldens is shown here.
