| Introduction | I've always been a "Farm Girl" at heart. Since I was a child, I've dreamed of a day when I could live in a place with a bit of land with trees and green spaces for gardening, to keep a few animals (especially some chickens and a horse), and some inner tranquility that comes with breathing room. For now though, as a public librarian, I live where the people are, in the City. And that's OK too. I apply my need to nurture where it is needed. But I still find ways to exercise my inner Farm Girl through gardening, practicing eco-awareness in a city home, and in other small ways, and holding onto the dream of a future where I can someday have that bit of tranquility. |
