| Introduction | This blog was first started as the Leeds College of Technology Foundation Degree blog. I designed this to get course information to students as quickly as possible in the days before we had Moodle. My background is teaching Drama and English in secondary schools, which I did for several years. I also introduced the Gifted Pupils' initiative to the West Leeds area of Leeds. I moved to the College of Technology to become a Senior Tutor and to share joint responsibility for the Tutorial system. As well as this, I am responsible for the delivery of Personal and Professional Development on Level 4 Computing courses. The addition of the 'My So-Called Life' part of the blog is recent. I have spent many years encouraging my students to keep blogs and reflective journals that formalise those internal conversations we have with ourselves. However, being a hypocrite, I did not keep one of my own - until now. If I believe that blogging supports my students and enables them to become better learners - and I do - then I should make the effort to improve my own ability to learn by maintaining a blog of my own.
