| Introduction | Having been a registered nurse for many years, I have seen tremendous change in both education and nursing. My original licensure was in Pennsylvania from a hospital-based program which is no longer in existence. I was also in the Navy Nurse Corps for a couple of years at the start of my career. Currently, I am on faculty at University of Central Florida College of Nursing since 1995. I have taught courses in health assessment, fundamental skills, leadership and management, and issues related to health care, policy, and economics. During two semesters of the calendar year, I have students in clinicals in both community health and public health. I also developed the initial course in Healthcare Informatics. Currently, I am teaching two courses online. I am taking courses as a traveling scholar in a doctoral program at UCF. |
