| Introduction | one day many years ago i started counting, when i was bored, sitting in a classroom. i started writing a list of all of the things i could think of that i could count, and i found that the list could go on and on, and that you could count practically anything. i kept it on a loose leaf sheet of paper, and i used to give it to my friends every now and again, and they would add on to it. pretty soon i found out that everyone had several things at any given time that they were counting, and that it was a rather beautiful way to see what was going on in their minds, especially when they were so far away. |
