Introduction | I am an educated African American woman who once prided herself on telling it like it is. Now, I realize that that attitude is not always the best. So while I still believe in honesty, I am learning to cushion the blow. HOWEVER this blog does not require that and it’s more straight talk than in my real life. |
Interests | My main interests are my family and doing what I need to do to preserve my sanity while not compromising. |
Favorite Movies | My favorite movies in no particular order are: The Joy Luck The Five Heartbeats Like Water for Chocolate Brown Sugar Pretty Woman Phat Girlz |
Favorite Music | My favorite genre is gospel. Simply it speaks to my soul. My favorite artists are Karen Clark Sheard, Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, and Wyclef. I love listening to the radio. When a favorite song of mines comes on it’s as if the whole world is listening with me. |
Favorite Books | My favorite book is the Bible. It’s a romance novel, drama, war story, urban legend etc all in one. Other books that I love are More Christian than African American by Kimberly Cash Tate, Open Wide the Freedom Gates: A Memoir by Dorothy Height, Fireweed: A Political Autobiography by Gerda Lerner, and Lil Mamas Rules: A Novel by Sheneska Jackson. Most recently I finally finished Midnight by Sista Soulja. |
You've broken up with your old band and are about to release your first solo album. Please write the liner notes:
...I would especially like to thank for former band mates for allowing me to explore other options and helping me to grow as a person. The times we shared working together was wonderful and I look forward to congratulating you on all of your successes. Best wishes in all of your endeavors!
