| Introduction | Retired from the Canadian military after 35 years, I enjoy the card collecting hobby. Like many collectors I started collecting all the new product but one day I bought some vintage Topps and Post cards at an auction. My love for the vintage cards began; my focus on collecting shifted 30+ years. As I did, I also discovered the O-Pee-Chee cards that began in 1965. I continued collecting everything baseball but would rather spend $100 on some 1964 common cards than on a new RC from 2010. I do have some goals in my hobby. Eventually I would like to have all the base-set cards produced by O-Pee-Chee from 1965-1994. Of the over 13,000 cards, I am missing under 600 of them. I continue to work on the Topps sets from 1952 to 1973. Some of those are close to completion, others are still a ways off but everyone of them is above 50% completion other than the 1952 set. Other than cards, I do hobby farming, have a couple of horses, and grow my own vegetables. Retired life is a great thing if you can afford it. |
