About me

Introductionkerf noun 1. a slit made by cutting, especially with a saw. 2. the cut end of a felled tree. When crosscutting a fallen tree, the kerf is a sliver of cut wood that speaks of how the log is binding—sinking with gravity's pull, rising against an uphill weight, twisting with a hidden knot. The point where the wood will open and split, or close and pinch. The sliver of air you have raked free, the tiny splinter of sky you have welcomed into wood.
