| Introduction | I am a research scientist who has been studying algae for over 13 years. I received my PhD at Harvard, did a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington, was the Director of Research for Bodega Algae and am currently a research scientist at the University of Washington and an Assistant Professor of Biology at Western Washington University. At Bodega Algae, I worked with a team of engineers, designers, and business folks to develop technology to advance the industrial uses of algae. In my academic work, I study algae in the ocean and their role in the carbon cycle and teach courses on algae, metagenomics, and conducting research. |
