| Introduction | I have been working in the marketing profession for 30 years and also taught marketing at the University of NSW for 10 years. My specialities are strategic marketing and brand management. A central part of my expertise is analysing markets using market research, which in political terms is known as polling. Some time ago I started to analyse the published polling as I would any research and sent my analyses to several journalists, who liked the material and published my results in their columns. Since then I have sent a regular newsletter to many people in the media, several of whom have cited my analysis. I have written articles for the Australian Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian, and have appeared on ABC TV and Radio, and Channel Ten's "Meet the Press".
