| Introduction | The most important thing for me is confronting the hate aimed at gay people for the sake of our gay youth, so that they do not add to the increasing suicide rate. The level of hate is higher than ever i.e. Bush's Hate Legislation. If you are around children know this; the most important thing to a gay child is hiding that they are gay because of the hate from others and for themselves. They live in fear and isolation. Unlike other minorities they cannot seek comfort from those who love them, as they are often a part of the hate. That’s why I woke up in a hospital bed at the age of 12 after a failed suicide attempt. Few things are black and white except when it comes to the child that you can help and love or remain a part of the problem that is killing them. It could be your child, family member or friend.
