| Introduction | SARFRAZ BAIG PROFILE My name is Sarfraz Baig. I was born in Rawalpindi. After completing my graduation I completed my diploma in French language and literature from Alliance Française Islamabad. Then I worked as a tourist guide for renowned tourist companies in Pakistan. One of them was Travel Waljis as a French and English speaking tourist guide. During this job, I travelled Northern Areas of Pakistan. From Rawalpindi to Taxila, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Besham, Chilas, Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu, Chitral and Peshawar and many more places. I saw rock carvings at Shatial Chilas, Statues of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha. I studied archaeology, anthropology, history, geography, art, culture and civilisation. Apart from these things I studied Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. Studied Gandhara art, Dwarawati art, Pali art and read about Dipankara Jatakas of Buddha. During my job in the offseason, I did my masters in literature. I comprehensively read Urdu, English, Punjabi Italian and French literature. Mir Taqui Mir, Mirza Ghalib, Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Nasir Kazmi and Jaun Elia inspired me a lot. In French poetry Paul Verlaine, Charles Baudelaire, Arthur Rimbaud and Jacques Prévert inspired me a lot. |
