Introduction Hi, I'm Ice Mom. I write Ice Mom’s Adventures in Figure Skating as a guide for figure skating parents who want to spend their money wisely and understand rink culture. I started this blog in March of 2008 to share my experiences and blunders with other figure skating parents so that we all don’t repeat my many mistakes.

I am Mom to Ice Girl, the wife of Ice Dad, and the cat-food-giving and dog-food-giving human. Occasionally, I feed the fish. I spent 10 years in the classroom teaching high school English, French, English as a Second Language, and journalism. Then I decided to get one job: writer. When I’m not at the rink, I’m in my cube writing about teaching, learning, and education trends. I’m probably reading my Ice Mom e-mail, too. (Shh.)

Well, maybe they don't need them, but don't you think that some fish might like a bicycle?

Fish need bicycles like women need husbands: to love and cuddle up with at night. There's a joke here about riding, pumping up tires, and tying up to a tree with a chain and a padlock, but I seem to have misplaced the punchline. Insert your own here.
