| Introduction | Janis Phelps has over 30 years of genealogical experience and has an Associate of Applied Science in Family History Research from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She also has over 20 years of library experience providing customer service, clerical duties, creating displays, and presenting presentations for young and old, alike. Many of Janis’ ancestors originated in Virginia and South Carolina and then settled in Kentucky and Tennessee, making the Mid-South region an area of high interest and experience. She plans to receive accreditation from ICAPGEN in the Mid South Region in the near future. Other genealogical experience includes contributing to Find A Grave, volunteering at her local family history center, and organizing many family reunions. She has also participated in FamilySearch’s Indexing program and in teaching community members family history basics. |
