Introduction	It started with an impulse purchase of Breakstone's sour cream based on fond memories of perfectionist Sam Breakstone. Then I found that Breakstone's has been a Kraft brand for over eighty years. So, what exactly was I buying? A story? A gimmick? A logo? Had anything from the nineteenth century survived? As a lawyer in the suburbs north of New York City, I don't have a lot of training in food and marketing history. Because I care about what my family eats, I'm dedicated to finding Sam Breakstone.
