Introduction	2012 was not what I expected. I expected to finish nursing school, mentor my 10th grade girls at church, work 1-2X/week in the maternity center, and fit in camping, visits to my family, and other adventures. However, God had other plans. Well, I did do most of the things I thought I would do, but I also ended up with a breast cancer diagnosis in January and an ovarian cancer diagnosis in March. In addition to my plans, I also navigated surgeries and 12 cycles of chemotherapy. Of course, I grew and changed a lot. In so many ways, 2012 was a good year: I have really cool new friends, my "old" relationships have deepened immensely, and I've got great experience for my nursing career. And my faith has grown tremendously. I used CarePages.com to record my journey through cancer (you can look me up there). People were extremely kind about my writing, and many encouraged me to write a book. WOW! While I'm not feeling ready or called to write a book, I'm going to try blogging. If nothing else, I want a video at the end of the year – all the weekly pics of my hair, as it grows back in. :) Please read, enjoy, and share. Why struggle if we can't help and encourage others?
