IntroductionI started this blog several years back, but due to life and work, it has been neglected some what. The good thing is, my kitchen certainly hasn't! And I am still so passionate about cooking delicious, healthy recipes that can be altered to suit my diet restrictions and yours too! 15 years ago I was diagnosed with IBS and with an intolerance to a range of products. When I was first diagnosed in my teens, there was no such thing as a 'Free From' aisle in the supermarkets. My first introduction to mass produced, gluten free bread were filled with hilarity. They often resembled the tiny, wooden toast replicas you find in a toddler's toy kitchen and were either filled with cavernous holes which your jam or honey fell through or dissolved in the toaster when heat was applied. You wouldn't dare make a sandwich as the sight of filling would make the "bread" crumble away with fear. Due to the lack of substitutes at the time, I quickly started to adapt recipes to suit my tastes and requirements and have never looked back. I hope you find these recipes tasty and satisfying!
InterestsCooking, fashion, reading, music, languages, writing, cinema, running, yoga, fitness, dog walks
Favorite moviesAnything with Denzel Washington, Audrey Tatou, Eric Bana or which has been directed by Tony Scott. Genre wise, it's either action thriller, european cinema or an alternative, non-linear, dialogue heavy production which makes you consider the bigger picture.
Favorite musicI'm an ecclectic music junkie, who enjoys practically anything from Nina Simone and Mardeleine Peyroux to The Rolling Stones to a clubland remix of a Lana Del Ray or Lykke Li track .
Favorite booksThe secret life of bees, Never Let Me Go, Revolution, French women don't get fat, Ruby Wax's autobiography, a tiny bit marvellous, My life in France, Left Bank, Great Expectations, Jane Eyre........
