| Introduction | Handstand Press is a small publishing company based in the beautiful village of Dent, near Sedbergh in Cumbria. Handstand publishes local history books and books by Cumbrian authors. The company was founded in 2005 by Liz Drew, the owner of the Bookshop at the Tinners’ Rabbit in Ulverston. Handstand’s first project was to commission a new history of Ulverston. It is still in the making! In the meantime Handstand has published a book a year. Liz retired from the Bookshop in 2008 and now works from Dent under her married name, Liz Nuttall. |
