Introduction	I spent 20 years in the US Navy retiring as a CWO4. I followed that with 15 years in the financial services industry before finding what I really wanted to do. For five years I was a County Veteran Service Officer in the midwest. I worked face to face with vets; federal,state, county elected officials; and staff of the state and federal Depts of VA. For five more years I was director of national veteran services for one of the "Big 6" Veteran Service Organizations. In this job I spent a fair amount of time at VA Central Office, assorted DOD offices, and on the Hill. I testified before both the House and Senate Committees on Veteran Affairs and various commissions appointed by the Congress and the President. I also served on the DVA's Advisory Committee on Rehabilitation, was one of the many authors of the Independent Budget for the Department of Veteran Affairs and a few other publications. I currently work as a veteran service officer, assisting vets in filing claims for disabilities incurred in their service to our nation.
