| Introduction | My interest and expertise is in designing database systems. My PhD topic was the architecture of the MonetDB system, the first modern main memory column store for analytical applications. My second system is called VectorWise, a system that introduced among others the vectorized execution model, lightweight compression methods, differential update handling using positional delta trees and cooperative I/O scheduling. Currently am also involved in the Hyper research project at TUM. |
