| Introduction | What does being masculine or feminine mean to you? Society has formed two narrow categories that everyone is expected to conform to when it comes to gender roles. Those who do not fall into these rigid categories are often ostracized by society. We will be assessing whether these roles impact the ways in which Americans date and form relationships. More specifically, we will analyze the advice and message the media portrays, use surveys to determine similarities and differences, annotate literature on dating, interview a variety of people, and present historical background on how modern dating rituals have developed. |
