| Introduction | I'm now 42 years old. It took me a while to find Mr.Right. We started trying when I was 38, but after 6 months sought infertility treatment. Along the way we found out that 1) I'm a poor responder to IVF drugs, 2) I have ovulatory dysfunction, 3) I have crappy eggs. We've survived a chemical pregnancy, a blighted ovum and a Trisomy 18 which we heart-breakingly terminated at 13 weeks. After one final IVF attempt resulting in a BFN, we made the decision to move on to donor eggs. My sister had offered twice and we finally took her up on her offer. She passed her CD3 tests with flying colors and....oops!!......I'm pregnant. On our own. The pregnancy ended (albeit somewhat dramatically with a stat C-section) on September 24, 2011 with a healthy baby girl! In the meantime, we continued with egg retrieval with my sister and froze 5 embryos on Day 1. We're now in an FET cycle TTC'ing for child #2. |
